Lamps with a Knitted Shade by Ariel Zuckerman

Tel Aviv-based designer Ariel Zuckerman created a series of light fixtures that combine technology with tradition. Born from a collaboration with Oded Sapir, and partnering with designer Adva Bruner, knit and crocheted wool threads in fixed patterns create a three-dimensional sheet of fabric which serves as a lighting fixture.

Made from a combination of industrial knitting with manual crochet. Fitting the fabric onto a rigid skeletal structure creates a light fixture with an organic feel and a rich colorfulness.
