Modern Black and White Family Home in Canada by Guido Costantino

This two-storey modern residence, called 44 Belvedere, is located on a wooded lot in Oakville, Ontario. Imagined by Guido Costantino, the black palette consists of stucco, concrete, brick, anodized siding and a mix of opaque and transparent glass.

The front of the home is fairly closed off to allow for privacy. Designed for a young family, the home was created with a much more open back of glass to allow for views of the pool.

The family wanted an open floorplan, so the L-shaped design allows for rooms to flow into one another, and all wrap around a simple, rectangular pool and patio area.

Instead of using walls to divide rooms, the architect used subtle changes in materials.
