Moody Donja Stool by MbyMartin

Martin Saar is an Estonian designer residing in England who is studying product and contemporary furniture at Buckinghamshire New University. He makes things under the name MbyMartin.

His latest piece is a stool called Moody Donja, which evolved from the original classic by Alvar Aalto. Martin explains that he has a love/hate relationship with Aalto’s stool because it bothered him that the legs of that stool are not on the same plane as the seat.

Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he joined the seat and legs to give the stool a more unified look. The seat can be flipped and each side has a different color — green or yellow. Get on in Martin’s Etsy shop.
