MRND: Lamps Inspired by Giorgio Morandi

As a tribute to master still life painter Giorgio Morandi, Elena Salmistraro designed a trio of lamps for Seletti that are a modern reinterpretation of what he focused on most in his work – bottles in a still life. Morandi had a way of capturing the bottles with a soft light and subtle colors giving them an almost magical appearance. Salmistraro brings them back to 3D by “pulling” the bottles out of the canvas and turning them into the MRND lamps.

Texture was added as a way to mimic brush strokes and show how light would hit the bottle in one of the paintings.
