Maija Puoskari and Anna Palomaa are two designers from Lapland, Finland who presented new designs at SaloneSatellite in Milan this year. Inspired by the nature and stories around them, the designers present solid collections that include lighting, wall tiles, vases, and a swing.
First up are Maija Puoskari’s designs:
Kuusi are pure white, three-dimensional ceramic wall tiles that let you play designer.
Kala is a carpet that was inspired by animal hide rugs and a dash of humor. You can even hang it up on your wall when you don’t need it.
Liuku is a simple pendant lamp made from two parts – a glass shade and a wooden base that holds the glass and socket in place.
Pi-no Pin-no are a series of modular vases you can mix and match so you’ll never be without the wrong size vase again.
And now for Anna Palomaa’s designs below:
The Toini ceiling lamps are a part of a circus-themed series of lights. The design is meant to evoke the feelings, colors, and shapes you’d find at a circus.
The Harlekiini lamp is another circus-themed light with its playful cone shape and an on/off switch that hangs on a chain with a fun ball at the end.
The Syli Swing is meant to hold the person within its arms in its cozy reindeer skin seat. Designed for indoor use, the swing is held up by sailing rope that’s been knotted using a macramé technique.
