Nike SNKRS App Keeps Kicks Collectors In the Know

For sneaker heads there’s nothing worse than seeing those two words – “sold out” – the notification you’ve missed out on the release of a pair of eagerly anticipated new edition Jordans or the new Roshe colorway. The Beaverton, Oregon sportswear giant knows their customer base of kicks collectors want any leg up when it comes to getting their hands on anticipated releases, and they’ve answered with SNKRS, an iOS and Android compatible app with the sole purpose of keeping their fevered community more connected and informed about the catalog of current and upcoming Nike footwear.

SNKRS users can set up an account with a customized feed of their favorite Nike models to learn more about each model and their lineage, alongside schedule notifications for future availability of desired models, and place orders directly from their device for instant gratification on the go.

Nike is following the tread marks of their counterpart/competitor, adidas, who recently announced the adidas Confirmed app, a similar “browse, reserve, purchase” experience for nabbing anticipated sneaker releases. Whether these additional online options reduce the lines camping out in front of sneaker temples like Undefeated and Flight Club remains to be seen.
