72andsunny’s Venture Creativity division has launched a new company, Nook Sleep Systems, whose first product is an eco-friendly infant mattress called the Pebble. They teamed up with eco-friendly company Pixel Organics to create Nook’s debut product. These mattresses look pretty cool, although I’m not a mom so I can’t actually test them out for you.
According to the Nook website, the Pebble mattress is a new patent-pending infant mattress and crib bedding system that creates a highly breathable, entirely non-toxic sleeping environment for infants. Pebble eliminates environmental hazards while introducing category-redefining performance and design benefits.
From the press release:
The Pebble Wrap is the Pebble’s outer layer, and the industry’s first high-performance, removable and machine-washable mattress cover. It features a woven, asymmetrical, pillowed surface that facilitates airflow while wicking unwanted moisture and heat away from the child. The Pebble Wrap uses a patented fabric that limits water, dirt and oil from attaching to the mattress surface. Messes can be easily wiped away, eliminating the need for a separate mattress pad. In addition, The Pebble Wrap uses patented, natural technology to eliminate fungus, mold, odors and other nursery pathogens.
They sure are pretty (and expensive)!
