The O-Votto Lamp by Joshua Howe Design

Joshua Howe Design has just released his new O-Votto Table Lamp, made of steel, plastic and concrete. A two-toned plastic light diffuser rotates 360 degrees, allowing the user to change the amount of light that the lamp gives off. Additionally, the small perforated stainless steel bulb cover rotates around the socket concealing unwanted “hot-spots” and is easily attached or detached with a simple clipping mechanism.

I like the combination of the solid, concrete base and the thin, steel arm—it makes the light feel solid. The way he’s designed the light, it seems to go from heavy and thick to thin and light as your eye moves up to the airy shade.
