oon: A Modern & Logical Update to the Power Strip

Those old plastic and metal power strips haven’t changed design since they first came out – they’re still those unsightly long, solid strips you see on everyone’s floors. Los Angeles-based OKUM, headed by furniture designer David Okum, designed oon, a new type of multi-outlet power cord that merges function with a smart design.

Three electrical outlets are fitted within wooden blocks that are strung on a cloth cord and separated by wooden balls. The best part about it is that because it’s on a cord, the oon can bend and flex around different situations, like furniture. Besides looking a thousand times better than power strips, the oon has plenty of space for those large adaptors to fit without wasting a nearby outlet.
