Comfortable is probably not the first word that comes to mind when describing modern chairs. Words like “sleek, cold, and uninviting” are the characteristics and descriptions which are most often cited when defining contemporary design. However, Brad Ascalon has designed Pillar for Bernhardt Design, a chair that is both soft and monolithic, merging modern and comfort together.

I definitely agree with modern chairs not being comfortable. I love how the armrests transition into the frame – most of the Bernhardt’s chairs usually have protruding armrests.
