Plume Makes WiFi Beautifully Simple

As ubiquitous and necessary as wireless Internet access has become for households and businesses, WiFi network systems are downright frustrating and ugly affairs, one defined by esoteric settings and unsightly hardware. The catch-22 of course is Internet routers perform best when placed out in the open and in the center of a room, but many of us try out best to hide them from sight.

Plume is the latest in a new generation of WiFi hardware/software solutions engineered to solve this Internet generation problem, serving up a fast and stable Internet connection like the best of existing routers, all in an aesthetically pleasing pod form factor that plugs directly into electric outlets, yet can be expanded easily without technical expertise.

Instead of a single router, Plume has engineered their wireless Internet system with adaptive WiFi technology to adjust signal strength and speed allotted to each unit according to demand. That means devices that only need a sip of bandwidth will be allotted a little, while an evening binging on Netflix will receive more of the network’s resources to meet the viewer’s demand all in real-time. And because there’s no single router with Plume, the whole WiFi network can be expanded with additional Plume Pods to extend coverage.

Each Plume Pod offers a gigabit Ethernet port, ideal if your home has several Internet of Things/smart devices requiring an Internet connection.

Users can monitor WiFi signal speed and strength via a graphical app that hides away much of the technical jargon that confuses everyday users, simplifying the process and maintenance of any network.

Plume is available for pre-order for $39 per pod, but requires a minimum of 6-pods purchase. We’ll be curious whether the promise of easier, faster, and more reliable Internet is realized this fall when Plume is set for delivery.
