Proaesthetics by Francesca Lanzavecchia

Francesca Lanzavecchia is an Italian born designer who is now one half of Lanzavecchia + Wai, a creative collaboration with her and Hunn Wai. Prior to that, the designer created an interesting project entitled Proaesthetics, which contains Orthosis, Canes & Crutches, and Back Braces. Meant to explore the relationship of user and producer of these devices for the disabled, each piece is a way to open up discussion and to learn to cope with “disability, illness, and human frailty.” The pieces are thought provoking, and most definitely, conversation starters.
