hi,
i have seen a similar lighting here in manila, and its far cheaper than the $651 tag. i believe its even less than a hundred dollars.
if you want one the only question is the shipping cost.

I wonder if you could make one yourself. You’d need an inflated balloon covered in resin-removal spray with the light fixture inside, the thread or wire dipped in resin, and lots of time on your hands…but I don’t see why not. Plus…imagine the customizations! On whole it would probably cost you $45…I’m a big fan of DIY.

I used to have one in orange but threw it away, because it was too annoying! Everytime you touch it, the shades on the walls start moving and it makes you fell like the whole room is turning around you! This effect is very strong, it often made me feel sick and puke up… :) You can easiely make one with an inflatable beach ball, hemp cord, glue and spray paint, just don`t give `em those $651!

It actually took 3 years to perfec this light. SO I doubt on the DIY. I’m buying it as we speak. Put it in a room where there will be no motion like outside door close by or in a big vaulted entry way.

I was thinking of bleached spagehetti ;-)
Yes, I love it but the price is too much.
I can still appreciate it though.

These lamps are sold in Laos… Kind of far, but there you buy them in the streets for an absurdly low amount of money.
You can fold them and bring in your luggage. Then you unfold it and its ready to use.
Cheers!
