Reactiv Studio by LUX Design

Based in downtown Toronto, production agency and visual effect studio Reactiv Pictures asked LUX Design to create a new office space that goes from day to night and fits in with their vibe of creativity. Not only did LUX create a fun atmosphere using a CNC cut partition wall, graphical entrance and custom murals, but they also brought the feeling of motion and movement into the space, aligning nicely with Reactiv’s work.

As you approach Reactiv’s entrance, you’re greeted with a custom film placed on the door to make it look like frosted glass. Through the cutout of their logo, you can grab a sneak peek into the space.

Upon entering you see a wall featuring an aluminum CNC cutout of their logo onto which a custom video is being projected.

Here Hooks add graphic humor to the space as they take your coat.

Follow the custom green and blue bubble stickers, which take you to different screening rooms.

The lunch area is separated from the entrance by a hand-painted 10′ custom CNC wall made of three layers of MDF. The back wall of the space has a green and blue stripe wall, a pattern that spells out “Reactiv” in binary code.

Stripes help extend and accentuate a long, narrow hallway and overhead lighting — grouped bulbs — helps make the ceiling feel a bit lower.

The two screening rooms are where clients spend most of their time. Therefore the rooms needed to be well-designed, professional and comfortable. The rooms feel more loungey than a movie theater, making clients feel more at home while watching Reactiv’s work.
