Refugium of a Forester in Sweden by Petra Gipp Arkitektur

The Refugium and barn by Petra Gipp Arkitektur are located on a remote location of a heavy forested area, creating a low impact on the terrain and blending with its surroundings and landscape. The space is very peaceful; perfect for a writer’s retreat. The dark façade works really well with the tree trunks and gives a very organic approach of construction. The entrance door is the only big element of design of a mostly austere front. The windows were placed to maximize the view like picture frames, creating a great contrast to the stark interior. Details out of concrete, teak and zinc, generates some level of sophistication.
