Salvers by David Weeks Studio & Neal Feay Studio

The opening of David Weeks’ NYC showroom has afforded him the opportunity to team up with other designers and showcase the collaborations in the new spot. To commemorate this year’s ICFF, Weeks asked Alex Rasmussen, creative director and grandson of the founder of Neal Feay Studio, to join in after visiting their factory in Santa Barbara last year and becoming impressed with the work that they do.

Their meeting lead to a collection of aluminum Salvers, or trays, three by Weeks and three by Rasmussen, each available in two different color finishes. Weeks went more angular and faceted with his trays, while Rasmussen elected to go a more organic root, but both sets work together showing the designers’ ongoing conversation throughout the design process.

The Salvers Collection will be on display in a month-long exhibition at the David Weeks Studio showroom for NYCxDesign 2014, from May 17th through June 20th. This New York show will open concurrently with one in Paris, where a second set of Salvers will be included in the American Design in Paris exhibition at the Mona Bismarck American Center for Art & Culture.
