Sarkozy Carriage House in New York

This historic home on East 75th Street in New York City is a spectacular carriage house built in 1910. The Upper East Side gem has 8,475 square feet: 4 floors, 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. It also boasts over 2,000 square feet of magnificent private garden space — a rarity in New York City!

The home’s present owner, Oliver Sarkozy (half-brother to French President Nicolas Sarkozy), with the help of architect Michele Busiri-Vici, put $2 million worth of renovations into the property, including white oak hardwood floors, Valli & Valli door handles, incredible skylights, a custom designed, top-of-the-line St. James kitchen, as well as Bisazza mosaic tiles, Duravit bathroom fixtures and Dornbracht bathroom faucets in the bathrooms.

I think my favorite parts of the home include the black painting on the staircase and the bright lime green tiled shower (I’m on a neon green kick lately). Throughout the home, each white-walled room seems to have one focal point: a pop of color. For example, the purple backsplash in the kitchen, the red rug in the living and stair areas, the gold pillow in the bedroom.

The property is being listed at $11,950,000 by Michael Bolla of Luxury Lofts & Homes.
