Shay Carmon is an industrial designer from Israel who recently created a collection of furniture in collaboration with Ben Klinger.

Leaning chair
Sitting on the leaning chair is characterized by half-standing. The seat itself was made smaller to allow a short rest and a fast stand up. The wooden legs are supported by metal legs. The bent-iron seat has two cushions attached to it with a single connection.

Two leg table
A coffee table based on two legs only. The two legs support and balance each other, and together carry the upper surface. In order to achieve stability, the contact area between the surface and the legs was increased by using additional matter that rises above the surface. The table’s special structure was achieved by using strong materials — Corian surface and oak legs.

Separation shelf
The separation shelf is a shelf designed for couples that live together. It is built of a 2.5m oak lumber with grooves every 10cm, and four metal supporters. In a regular state, the supporters are inserted into the groves, and serves both as hangers as well as book supports that divides the shelf into different areas.
When the couple separates, the supporters are used as working tools which can break the shelf into two parts. Each partner takes his/her share (that is not necessarily equal…) of the common property, a share that bears the break signs.

Touching lamp
The touching lamp is a ceiling lamp composed of two luminous bodies. Contact between the bodies turns the light on. All the lamp’s parts are exposed — the electric wires were replaced by aluminum strips embedded in the oak beams, the aluminum joints act as conductors, and the aluminum lampshade is used both as a switch as well as a reflector. The lamp is working on a low voltage of 12 volts, so one can touch every part of it bare handed. Each luminous body has two joints, and all the four axes together give the lamp its freedom of movement, creating endless illumination compositions.
