I discovered Will Patlove on Zatista whose work basically consists of two simple things: acrylic paint on canvas. However, Will’s art is unique in that he builds all of his own stretchers, so that he can create protrusions using bent strips of wood that push the canvas forward when stretched, playing with the angles of the geometric shapes he paints in order to manipulate the light and shadow.

I bet these looks so fantastic in person – you really can’t get a feel for the 3D effects in the photographs.
