Rhizome by Matali Crasset

Rhizome by Matali Crasset

Designed by Matali Crasset for Arturo Alvarez, Rhizome is a modern chandelier made from metal that resembles a mobile. Each arm branches out from a central spine and then repeats to create a contemporary effect. This is definitely one of those pieces I see that make me say “Wow. I want it.” I especially love the optional dab of yellow on the ends.

Joker Lamp

Joker Lamp

The Joker by Volker Haug is like the Fonzie of the lighting world. A second-hand chandelier gets a new look with a tailored zip-up leather jacket made of recycled leather. Now I want to take a bunch of old furniture and get leather jackets made for them and form a gang of secondhand furniture thugs.

White and Whimsical from Nella Vetrina

The Mustique Lounge Chair from the Lofficina Collection
A very cool grown-up cradle style chaise. Engulfing you in comfort and serious style. Custom upholstery shown in leather with a wooden base in American Walnut. This eclectic upholstery collection is the result of a unique tie between tradition and modernity. I would like one of these covered entirely in sheepskin.

Colouring Light by Isabelle Lochet

Isabelle Lochet sent me a series of photos of her Colouring Light chandelier, a light that is made up of six boxes of 18 colored pencils, 102 steel springs, nine hooks and two plastic necklaces. Each box of pencils is a branch of the chandelier and the pencils are connected using steel springs. The springs allow you to move the pencils around in any configuration you’d like.
