If you'd asked me yesterday whether I thought that there could be a wall decal company that is doing something I haven't seen yet, I'd have told you no way. However, Unwhite is a Spain-based wall sticker company creates functional wall decor made by designers.

TOTEMS is a new set of stackable wooden blocks designed by Dino Sanchez. For people of all ages to use in the playroom or at the office, each block is handmade in the US from solid oak and walnut with non-toxic finishes.

Japanese wooden industry Sakai Sangyo co., Ltd has launched a new brand called Buchi, which is a play on the word “fuchi,” meaning "rim" in Japanese. The "rims" of each toy are painted in a playful color by local craftsmen. The toys are all wooden, encouraging education about the role of trees and forests in making objects in our lives as well as educating about sustainable forestry.

Nothing has made me want to bust out my markers and crayons more than this Bill Murray coloring book. Belly Kids sought out 24 illustrators to design images of the beloved Bill Murray and compiled them into this ridiculously fun coloring book entitled Thrill Murray.

During Helsinki Design Week, I visited Habitare 2012, a furniture and design fair that drew about 57,000 people over the five days it was open. There was such great work on display including a large amount of student designs and work by Finnish designers.
