Japan by Design, a special exhibit located in a room right off the main exhibit hall, was full of contemporary Japanese design and innovation. Some of my favorite contemporary designers and design firms are Japanese, one being Plus Minus Zero, whose modern technological masterpieces I was finally able to see first-hand.

First up? Jonathan Adler. OK, I am a big JA fan, but this booth looks like a flea market, or my grandmom’s basement. It was packed and busy, and I couldn’t focus.

The Designboom mart was exciting for me this year because I was able to meet some people I’ve talked about before as well as check out some new stuff!

The IDSA wall at ICFF was super fun and exciting for me because I was able to meet some Design Milk sponsors!

Next, you can see Aimée Wilder’s booth, and she is the cutest lady ever. Seriously. I am a huge fan of her wallpapers and we chatted for some time. I really loved her clouds design.

While at ICFF, although there were not too many children’s furniture designers, I did happen upon two that I had never heard of before. I’m very excited about these designs, and they are a great alternative to many of the “usual suspects.”
