Rememberings

Rememberings

Bravo Company, an independent design studio based in Singapore, has recently launched a clever new product called Rememberings™. These stretchable silicon rings, similar to those yellow LIVESTRONG bracelets, have inscriptions on them that remind us of little, yet important things, such as Take pills; Call mum; Pay bills; Return books; Buy gift, etc, that always seem to slip our minds. The bright colors are sure to catch anybody’s eye, which thus fulfills its purpose of reminding! It works well as an accessory or a gift for a forgetful friend.

Void Watches

Void Watches

Introduced in 2008, Void Watches were created by Swedish designer David Ericsson. The design has an architectural feel with its simple geometric shapes and materials. The watch faces are half glass and half stainless steel, resembling the horizon they’re inspired by. They currently come in three models: digital, analog, and a new model with an LED display. The solid stainless steel case comes in multiple finishes like white, gold, copper, black, shiny chrome and brushed chrome, as well as several colors of leather bands.

2011 Year in Review: WTF

Ghost Urns
Yes, these are what they seem: ghoulish ghost-shaped urns for ashes — actual ashes. Designed by Anna Marinenko, they’re fitted with a glass test tube compartment for the ashes, and the interior walls are done in pretty pastel hues. Definitely for those with a morbid (healthy?) sense of humor.

Nektar de Stagni’s 1111 Necklaces

Nektar de Stagnis 1111 Necklaces

Designer Nektar de Stagni launched her eponymous label in 2008. Her studio and showroom was the first fashion-related one in the Miami Design District, and today, it also functions as a performance and pop-up retail space for artists and other designers. We’ve long been fans of her organic sensibilities, specifically the pyrite and pearl rings set in sterling silver turned gritty with sand in the Serpents and Pearl collection. Now, we are absolutely smitten with her new collection, 1111. The pieces are quite a change; all bright and shiny. It’s a take on the craft-driven rope and textile jewelry that’s been so popular of late, but Nektar de Stagni glams it with crystals.
