Doll is the new table lamp by French designer Ionna Vautrin for Foscarini where the shape looks like a cross between old oil lamps and those wooden Japanese kokeshi dolls that have skinny bodies and big faces. The bulging shades are made from glass while the narrow bases come in four colors - red, gray, green, and ivory.

Presented last week at Design Miami, Front Design's new Surface Tension Lamp designed for Booo is pretty darn awesome. Essentially it's a light that constantly blows bubbles.

I love these decorative jellyfish-like lamps - I especially think they'd look great hanging in a group of three as pictured.

The Scandinavian company Muuto is back with a new lamp that brings LED technology to a slim, minimalistic design they call Leaf.

There is something of a trend going on lately of these types of cage-like geometric designs - from Ana Cláudia's jewelry to Dave Hulsbergen's lamps and I'm digging it. So that's probably why I also like Mambo's new series of three Star pendant lamps created for the ETTERO collection.

Designed by Victor Vetterlein out of edible and biodegradable plastic, the BITE ME desk lamp will never see a landfill because it can, in fact, be eaten or tossed into your compost pile with everything else. The line, which was developed in collaboration with LED lighting company Foreverlamp, consists of three cordless lamps that can be used for everything from emergency lighting to camping, or even an extra light by your bed.

Kristine Five Melvær recently exhibited tableware at Food Work, an exhibition initiated by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll that features 21 designs by eight Norwegian designers, shown during Designtide Tokyo 2012. UK-based designer Finn Magee designed these two pieces for Areaware that just launched this week.

The Bichos lamp series comes from Portuguese architect Martinho Pita, who creates the handmade lamps from pruned Portuguese Holly Oak trees. Bichos, which roughly translates to "creatures", is meant to reflect just that - some type of wild creature that's frozen while in motion.
