Mobile Office by Tim Vinke

Mobile Office by Tim Vinke

If you’re one of those people who gets antsy or frustrated sitting in the same spot day after day, then maybe you just need a new office, like maybe one you can move from room to room?

Tim Vinke came up with a clever mobile office with desk and chairs, called het Kruikantoor, which is a combination of the words wheelbarrow and office. All interior elements can be combined, to which the object can be moved easily. The work is made of polystyrene with a hotspray coating on it.

Treasury Table by Process

Treasury Table by Process

The Treasury Table, designed by Lucie Koldová for Process, looks like an ordinary table but under the top hides secret compartments for just about anything from pens to poems. The concept was inspired by the idea that creatives need specialized spaces to store their items. The table has drawers sized from A5 to A2, along with compartments perfectly sized for writing utensils. It is made of painted MDF with a matte glass on the surface.

Blu Dot’s booth at ICFF was packed with new stuff this year, and it was good. So good that they won best body of work this year. I can’t say that I disagree with that decision.

Thanks to Ignant!

Thanks to Ignant!

If you remember last February, I did a “Behind the Blog” feature for Apartment Therapy’s Unplggd. Well, I just did another one for one of my favorite art blogs, Ignant, which you can read here.

I recently had to move apartments so my setup looks slightly different. Ugh, the pains of being patient while you’re house-hunting and, boy — will you look at all those cables — I really need to get those in order…how embarrassing! Thanks to Ignant! My favorite part of my new setup is my most recent purchase: a 24″ display for my Macbook Pro. I ditched the old iMac in favor for a more portable solution (actually I still have the iMac so if you know anyone who needs one, let me know).

P.S. My desktop wallpaper is our May 2010 Designer Desktopclick here to download.

Disk-it Sticky Notes by Burak Kaynak

Disk it Sticky Notes by Burak Kaynak

We’ve written about Burak Kaynak’s Share trash can before, and now he has a new design: sticky notes that look like floppy disks! These are not being mass produced, but I sure hope they do eventually. The standard solid Post-Its (even the ones in blinding colors) are so “yesterday”, and even if floppy disks are quite old school themselves, that’s what makes these sticky notes quite great.
