Bradley L. Bowers sent me his Shell lounge and the simple design and elegant minimalism about it made me want to grab a towel and slap on a bathing suit and head to the pool. Shell is designed to bring you balance – literally and figuratively, encouraging meditation through use forcing the user to relax and achieve equilibrium of the mind and body.

One of the showrooms we really took a shine to at High Point’s Spring 2012 Market was the Domitalia and Woodbrook spaces, located in 220 Elm. The space is light and bright featuring Domitalia’s specialty line of primarily chairs and tables for both residential and contract and Woodbrook’s signature natural yet modern designs.
We love the eco-friendly work of Shiner and coming across their latest Float series at the High Point Market made us love them more. Float is a collection of outdoor furniture made from plasticized foam that is not only lightweight and durable, but it floats in water! The material will not breakdown nor will water penetrate it, making it a perfect float for the pool. The chair also flips over to become a rocker.
The Cord Collection is a colorful new series of outdoor furniture inspired by those modernist string chairs made popular in places like Palm Springs. Designed by the Venice, California-based Ilan Dei Studio, the pieces are ergonomic and minimalist in design, yet completely durable and made to hold up in harsh temps. Hallgeir Homstvedt continues his relationship with Established & Sons by presenting the Gro watering can this year in Milan. Designed together with studio colleagues Anderssen&Voll and Petter Skogstad, the can is distinctly modern and grew out of an actual need by their offices for a watering can.

While they are minimal in design, the directional light swivels easily in two directions to point the super functional light wherever you need it.
The Abracadabra Bench, from the Barcelona-based Lagranja Design for Metalco, is a bench that can take on many different formations based on your requirements. Each colorful component is made of either stone, painted iron, wood, or recycled aluminum and can be set up in a cross, linear, or branch-like configuration.
Constanze Schweda’s new line of low tables are inspired by kirigami, which is a variation of origami that includes cutting the paper. Taking their cue from these three-dimensional shapes, the line of Curl tables also begins as a single sheet that in turn becomes a sculptural object.
