Fousse is a new brand located in The Netherlands that recently exhibited its first pieces at the Intérieur show in Belgium.

The ZzZen is a rotationally molded chair that rocks in all directions. Its design is comfortable and minimalistic. With its handy size and low weight combined with a handle it’s an ideal chair to use anywhere in the house: perfect for watching a movie, reading a magazine, an intimate chat, gaming or as a kid’s chair. It is also 100% weatherproof, even the Sunbrella cushion easily weathers a shower.

Belgian artist and furniture designer/maker Peter Donders has created two unique pieces of seating out of carbon fiber created by twisting it around a piece of molded foam, and then removing the foam. Both the C-Bench and C-Stone seem light and airy, but they are very sturdy.

Ever walk into one of those places where everything is perfect; the architecture, the furniture, the art, even the resident dog looks manufactured for this space…but something is clearly, eerily missing? You can’t quite put your finger on it but it’s almost like a pulse is absent, some palpable expression of life. It’s beautiful but not inviting. It’s cold. You want to look but not touch nor kick your shoes off and cozy in? This, my friends, is what I refer to as the architectural undead. Where everything acts alive but does not have a heartbeat or lungs to breathe. Well, I’m tired of modern design bring associated with the cold and austere. Mid-century modern understood the need for green (thus my liberal use of vintage interior design pix — so yummy!). Contemporary modern design not so much (as proven by my exhaustive search for current day plantscaping examples ending in a return to said good ol’ days). I say we unearth those wise roots, roll up the sleeves and invite a little friendly dirt in. Together we will be the plantscaper-capers fearlessly bringing life back into the spaces that are inhabited but do not breathe!

I really like the stackability aspect of these pieces.

I wish I had taken photos of Vladimir Kagan’s Capricorn collection for Oasiq at ICFF when I saw it. Although not a new collection, they are releasing some new cushions this year.
It’s breathtaking. It makes you instantly want to be on a sundeck in a sunny, warm place with a frosty drink. So good.
