Sculptural Bike Storage
Quarterre designed three sculptural bike storage solutions –- Hood, Branchline, and Shadow –- to support everyday life on two wheels. The pieces are not only useful and good-looking, they elevate the bike to a work of art.
How adorable is this cat bed by Paul Hendrikx of Studio Mango? Called Kitty Meow, the product was designed for PetsInn Shanghai. It’s made of PE plastics and can be used inside or out. Cats can crawl inside but can also sleep on top of the head.
The Archiquarium (and the Archiquarium II) is a seriously stylish fish tank. I think this is what happens when your fish graduate from the fish hotel.
The Bubble Tank by Sheffield-based design studio Psalt Design is one of those products that is beautiful, but makes me a little bit nervous.

James Ramsey, founder of founder of Raad, an architecture and design firm in NYC, has created the Chicken Co-Op, “luxury chicken residences” for those of you who are into this whole owning chickens craze.
I first spotted Czech Republic company Catworks on Moderncat. The designs are made in the shape of letters of the alphabet A, C, G, M, O, R, S and T and come in nine fun colors: beige, yellow, orange, red, green, blue, turquoise, gray, and brown. These would complement Roeland Otten’s ABChairs very nicely.
Cats love playing with and sleeping cardboard boxes, but who wants an ugly cardboard box sitting in the middle of their living room? That’s where these new cardboard cat products from Canadian pet company Loyal Luxe come in. They’re beautifully designed 100% recycled cardboard box cat habitats, The Canadian Cabin (saw this at ICFF and loved it!) and The Native American Teepee. Certainly much nicer to look at than a shipping box!
We just mentioned that everyone is chicken crazy. Chickens aren’t cuddly. They won’t sit in your lap (or at least I wouldn’t try). But, they’re reliable, produce eggs for food and are actually quite good pets.
Brooklynite architects Mitchell Snyder and Shelley Martin recently moved to Portland and while acclimating to their new surroundings and trying to launch a new architecture firm, Mitchell created his very first project in Portland: a hen house. Allowed three hens by Portland authorities, Mitchell designed a modernist 4′ cube with a 4′ x 15′ run with reclaimed cedar siding, windows for ventilation and a green roof.
