Max Brown has a new print available called “What The Old Timers Used To Call Cabin Fever“, which is based on one of my most favorite movies (and books) The Shining.
From left to right is every costume change that Jack Nicholson goes through in the movie. Max says, “The inspiration was more Edward Muybridge, less ‘Evolution of Man.’” Click on the image to view it larger.

A few weeks ago, I asked the Design Milk Twitter followers about some of their favorite band poster illustrators and I’m going to highlight one here each week. This is the third in the series.
The Small Stakes is designer Jason Munn, who makes his home in Oakland, CA. His signature minimalistic design style has made him one of the most well-known band poster designers, and one of the most in-demand. The Small Stakes also takes on projects like t-shirts, book covers, and album design.
I have to say that he is one of my current favorite designers.

Launched three days after the January 12th, 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the Haiti Poster Project is dedicated to raising funds for Doctors Without Borders — through art alone. Signed and numbered, limited edition posters have been donated by over 300 designers and artists from around the world and are currently for sale from $25 – $100.
It’s so, so inspiring to see so many different paths band together to support a decent cause. Go, art!

Seldon Hunt is an Australian transplant living in New York. He creates the most riveting (and dark!) large format digital prints. This one is my favorite!

Pragya Kothari is an independent artist based in Atlanta who creates the sweetest bird prints (and banners!), or “birdscapes” as she calls them. Check out her Etsy shop for current sale items.
