
Mid-century pottery brand Heath Ceramics is back with a new summer 2010 collection sure to bring a pop of color to your table. Following Heath’s long tradition of hand-dipped experimental and unique glazes, this collection consists of four new pieces and items from the company’s classic line. The whole collection includes a pitcher, deep serving bowl, two platters, and a set of vases.
Since this year is supposed to be the year of turquoise, Heath’s brought together the colors of the beach: aqua, yellow, and “ocean pacific,” perfect for summer. The collection will be available April 1st.

Menu has just come out with a carafe that aerates your wine in just five minutes.
You just press the Winebreather onto the top of an opened bottle of wine and flip it over so that the wine pours into the decanter. Then, serve wine directly from the decanter or flip it back over and serve from the original bottle.

Norwegian designer Kristine Bjaadal showed her Underfull Table Cloth at the 2010 Stockholm Furniture Fair and since then it has been getting quite a bit of press. This special table cloth features a simple damask pattern, yet hides a secret. When colored liquid — like red wine — is spilled on its surface, it reveals a hidden butterfly pattern. Still a concept, Kristine is working on getting these into production.

Turkish designer Ezgi Turksoy designed a series of conceptual spoons inspired by habits that occur at the table. Naughty habits like biting and licking the spoon are represented. In addition, a double-spoon represents the ritual of sharing a dish and the elongated spoon is inspired by the habit of stealing a bite from another plate. These are spoons that create fun interaction while reminding us of our table habits.
