Thank you to everyone who emailed me or commented with well wishes during this time. We are now back in our home and we are safe. I can’t imagine what it must be like for those who lost their homes in these fires. I hope that those of you in SoCal are back home and safe or will be back in your homes soon. Image above from NASA.

I’m so glad you’re ok. My parents were in the Witch Fire in North County. The home is ok, but it’s weird, since their place is in the burn area of all the maps! It’s difficult for a lot of people to grasp wildfires in S. California. I’m up in Oregon and have had to do a lot of explaining on why they’re so hard to put out, and emphasizing that these are actual track homes the fires are roaring through, not merely random outbuildings.

I am really glad to hear that you’re ok! My parents had to evacuate but they’re back home now and safe. Scary times. I was in San Diego during the Cedar Fires and it’s hard to imagine things being worse than that, but it is.
On a lighter note, d’ya know what they’ve decided about the Chargers game this weekend?
