The Argonaut Collection

Christina Skouloudi Design Studio and Athanasios Babalis collaborated this year on a series of sculptural forms for the tabletop. Called the Argonaut collection, the series of six objects (five wood and one steel) were designed and made in Greece, but will travel the world in exhibitions, not unlike the journey of the Argonauts. Each object is named for the crew from the original Grecian myth.

The Argonaut collection includes the following objects, named after the crew of the original myth:

The Actor notebook case is a small wooden suitcase perfectly tailored for up to a 17″ laptop. It has a little stainless steel door to keep your computer safe and sound.

The Iolas serving tray is a light wooden tray with handles that are an extension of the tray surface. It is available in small or large and oak or walnut. I love how its one-piece design protects the contents of the tray.

The Atalanta fruit-bowl is a fun, top-like fruit bowl that comes in three sizes. The way it lays on the table is dependent on the distribution of its contents.

The Atalanda salt & pepper set is a pair of wooden bugs made of light and dark solid wood (light for salt and dark for pepper).

The Staphylos fruit-bowl is a bowl inspired by fruit itself.

The Asterion suspension light is inspired by fish gills, created from a metal sheet. When cut, it morphs into a shiny 3D form that casts playful shadows. It can be hung horizontally or vertically.

The collection will be shown at 100% Design during the London Design Festival.
