Tieme Rietveld is a young Dutch interior designer and craftsman specialized in one of a kind, hand made design interior pieces. Over the last six years he created a name for himself in the Dutch interior and fashion scene with a few big assignments such as the interior of Tommyz Toko, one of the Netherlands’ most famous hairdress studios. Tieme does both small requests and big productions and works for both individuals and companies.
The Webster bookcase was a piece he made for a customer in Amsterdam. The customer asked for a “light, playful and open” bookcase that would offer enough space for both his books and some accessories. For the design he gave Tieme carte blanche. Tieme came up with a playful maze-like design that consists of four flipped and mirrored elements. The result is an organized chaos of shelves and storage space, a treat to the eye. The Webster is made out of MDF and is finished with a satin coat of signpost white. All shelves are rounded so the Webster keeps it’s smooth feeling, even when inspected from up close.

What really make this unique (aside from the brilliant design) is that not all the shelf compartments come fully forward, creating little nooks within the shelf. I love it!
