Tiffany & Co. Diamond Pavilion by 2×4

Tiffany & Co. reached the milestone anniversary of 175 years and chose to celebrate by having an exhibition of their archival jewelry travel around China. The New York City-based 2×4 were brought in to design the exhibit, which included the structure, as well as the technological pieces – like interactive screens that let you pretend to be fancy even for just a few minutes.

Custom tables were set up with large, embedded touch screens that allowed visitors to view the entire history of the company through a 3D timeline.

To really wow the visitors, Magic Mirrors were on hand to allow them to virtually try on pieces from the archives, be photographed, and able to send the photos out via email.

One of the individual mirrors that visitors were encouraged to stand in front of to get their Tiffany jewelry fix on. The tablet allows for the people to distribute the photos of themselves to make their friends jealous.

A specialized film was used on the exterior glass that appears transparent when standing directly in front on it, but when viewed from another angle it looks cloudy.

The pavilion was made of glass and it surrounded the iconic Tiffany Blue Box inside, which goes hand-in-hand with the company’s name. Inside, jewelry and items from the archives were on view in custom displays.
