Tsumugi Minimalist Storage Boxes by Ideaco

Tsumugi is a minimalist design created by Osaka-based firm Ideaco. The wooden containers are constructed of beech and steel. Each of the boxes contains a partition toward the middle of the box that corresponds to the color of the nameplate. This middle plate can be used to separate and organize the various items within the box, whether it be business cards, sticky notes, or note cards.

A small ledge is indented around the the perimeter of the box to allow for indefinite stacking. Not only does stacking save space, one can also cover up and conceal the less-used boxes by placing them towards the bottom. The current colors that are available for Tsumugi are: white, grey, yellow, and pink.

The designer wanted to find the simplest solution for cluttered workspaces, and immediately noticed the amount of business cards that were scattered among his own clutter. As a result, Tsumugi was created in order to accommodate common items seen on today’s workspaces. The nameplate allows users to identify and differentiate the various boxes.
