Vila Leopoldina Loft by Diego Revollo

Brazilian architect and interior designer Diego Revollo has a way with interiors. While making them completely cozy and livable, he still finds a way to keep them modern and classic at the same time. The latest, Vila Leopoldina Loft, is no exception. Working with 70 square meters, Revollo crafted the perfect space for the actor owner.

The ceilings, floors, and walls are kept a neutral material which they call “burnt cement.” On top of that, Revollo incorporated shades of purple, lilac, and burgundy throughout.

A variety of modern pieces were brought in to mix with classic elements. I love the Trash Me Lamp from Victor Vetterlein for &Tradition!

Another piece that stands out is the Wiggle Side Chair by Frank Gehry. Not only is it made from an unusual chair material (cardboard), its shape is quite sculptural.

The atypical kitchen comes complete with burgundy cabinets and shiny yellow countertops that wrap around to make a dining table. The yellow adds an unexpected punch and gives the space a happy feel.

A small office was built with acoustic isolation so that the owner can record audio right from his home. The door can be closed to provide privacy and to keep it tucked away.

The only real distinction between the public and private spaces of the loft are curtains, which reference a theatrical scene. The owner is an actor, after all.

On the other side of the curtains is the bedroom and bathroom.

The spa-like bathroom is open to the bedroom.

The areas are distinguished by different floor materials. The bathroom and closet spaces have wood flooring.
