When Good-hearted Design Goes Bad…

Ergonamic pet carriers? WTF dudes…what’s with the silly poses and half-naked models? Anyway, I’m sure they are great for you and your pet. Sorry, I just had to post this.

That is nightmarish. Whoever thought that would be a good idea should be banished from ever inventing or designing things ever again! BTW, aside from the utter hideousness of the design, it’s freakin crochet. That’s gonna stretch out and the dog’s gonna be on the floor in a week!
While these are AWFUL for its intended purpose, for my paralyzed dog, it could be helpful for physical therapy. But still, if it stretches it will be worthless.
did you watch the commercial… creeptastic. actually if i saw this on a knitting blog, i’d probably be all for trying it. but the marketing is just creepy and turns me off. the dogs don’t look all that comfortable (particularly the Boston - i have one and she’s a 20lb-er). i just don’t see how something crocheted is going to be able to carry a 20lb dog ergonomically and comfortably, for either the owner or the dog. even if it were as padded as my laptop bag, plus i’d expect it to stretch considerably. in comparison, my macbook pro isn’t all that comfortable to carry around in a heavily shoulder-padded, slim/light-weight bag and that only weighs 6lbs.
Neither of my dogs would tolerate being carried around like that, those carriers look like an accident waiting to happen.

It looks like something my ten year old would make for our cat. :{
