2020 Gift Guide: Travel

Oh, traveling – how we miss you so. It goes without saying that our wanderlust is at an all-time high this year and we’re dreaming of the day when we get to whip out our passports and book our next vacation. While we are still following official guidelines to stay home and shelter in place, we know that travel can also be unavoidable. To make your trip a little easier in the current climate, here are 10 of our favorite travel accessories that we have reserved for our next boarding call.

Adjustable Warrant Face Mask by Slowtide \\\ $12.95
This reversible, double-layer mask comes with super soft elastic ear loops that are adjustable to ensure the best fit. Solid black on one side and a classic black and white stripe on the other means it will go with anything one wears, if that’s a concern. It even has a built-in filter pocket if you want to add filters to your gift of love.

Colorblock Travel Journal by Poketo \\\ $14
It’s weird times right now, and journaling is one way we love documenting our days, mood and thoughts. Poketo’s travel journal is perfect for doing just that when you’re on the go because it’s filled with pages for you to write down memories and highlights, as well as keep track of your itineraries, packing list and other travel details.

Jet Luxury Wellbeing Kit Curated by Wellness Expert Bobbi Brown from STOW \\\ $340
If you have any anxieties about traveling, treat yourself with this wellness kit by iconic wellness + beauty expert, Bobbi Brown. It includes a a silk eye mask, a see-through pouch, gold eye mask patches, and other luxurious beauty products that will make you feel like the time in your hotel room with Netflix and room service is like a spa service.

Waffle Lounge Set by Parachute \\\ $150
A cozy set of loungewear also feels luxurious for in-air attire and also post-travel hotel room lounging. It’s one of our favorite ways to feel better when we’re away and missing home. This waffle set for women and men is soft, lightweight and looks so cozy casual that you could wear it out of the hotel room.

Granite Handwoven Linen Scarf by Studio Variously \\\ $119
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, a scarf is one of the most versatile travel items you can take on a trip! You can use it as a scarf, a small cozy blanket, a makeshift travel pillow, and now it doubles as extra protection like a mask. We love this linen one for its neutral shade, which was hand-dyed by artisans in Nepal using eco-friendly dyes.

Line 26” Hardside Suitcase by Tuplus \\\ $379
We don’t want to be at the baggage claim any longer than we have to, especially now! Tuplus’ luggage line will make it easy for you to spot your belongings on the belt and protect them while in transit. Another unique feature about this suitcase is that it uses four high-strength hooks and an elaborate lock mechanism instead of zippers to lock the two sides of the luggage together. That means you don’t have to worry about broken luggage or your belongings being compromised.

Portable Facial Humidifier by Hey Dewy \\\ $39
Planes can really wreak havoc on your face because of the extremely low humidity and recycled dry air, both of which leave the skin feeling dehydrated and tight. Our tip? Pack a face mist for the plane (avoid towelettes or anything that involves touching your face or removing your mask) and pack a portable humidifier so that you can rehydrate when you get to your hotel room. Be sure to use it when you sleep too, when your body is repairing itself!

Leather Overnighter by Issara \\\ $499
A good overnight bag is a must-have these days, whether for a quick business trip or a weekend away. This classic, flight cabin friendly bag is handcrafted from premium full grain leather with lockable zips and metal feet to protect the bottom. You can also use it as a work bag as it features a padded laptop compartment, smartphone/iPad pocket, headphone/misc. accessory compartment and a business card holder.

A5 Memobottle by Memobottle \\\ $36
A water bottle is still a must-have on our travel packing list, and this one will fit in your bag or suitcase easily with its A5 international paper size. It’s only 1.2” thick so it takes up less space and you can pair it with additional accessories, like sleeves, extra caps, and carry straps to customize your Memobottle.

Hand Refresher by Jao \\\ $10
Last on our travel must-bring is hand sanitizer, pandemic or not. We know you can spend much less on something as simple as hand sanitizer but trust us, once you try this one, you won’t go back. This hand refresher is an “instant disinfectant and aromatherapy boost in one,” thanks to its blend of antiseptic essential oils like lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus, geranium and sage. The camomile and calendula extracts also prevent dry hands, especially when you’re using it so much during travel (or just every day life).

If you’re still undecided or haven’t found the right gift, there’s one universal gift that is well-liked by friends, family, colleagues, and kids alike: the Design Milk gift card. Let your recipient pick out something for themselves from our shop. We’re sure that they’ll find something they didn’t even know they wanted.
