40 X 40: Objects Made from Single Marble Tiles

Paolo Ulian and Moreno Ratti teamed up to find out what you could make from 40cm x 40cm Carrara marble tiles that had been discarded or looked at as waste material. With a water jet machine to cut and simple assembly, the duo created six objects that when complete, didn’t produce any waste material of their own. The 40 X 40 collection was displayed this summer at Carrara Marble Weeks.
