Read on to find your scary movie match, and find these modern picks and more in the Design Milk Shop.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

Just as the Sanderson Sisters’ spooky Salem lair wouldn’t be the same without its hordes of aged candles, our homes wouldn’t be with the same without the Wick Portable Candlelight ($149). \\\ Photo: Still from Hocus Pocus. Directed by Kenny Ortega, Walt Disney Pictures, 1993.

Wick Portable LED Candlelight by Graypants, inc.

This best-selling classic is befitting for an equally classic Halloween movie. Just as the Sanderson Sisters’ spooky Salem lair wouldn’t be the same without its hordes of aged candles, the Wick Portable Candlelight is an essential light source for any modern-day witch who craves the moody glow of candlelight wherever she goes. Find it in brass, graphite or in a bundle of three for triple the impact.

Edward Scissorhands (1990)

Maybe it’s the range of soft color options or the organic topiary-like shape, but the Sculptural Candle Holder ($74) by Extra&Ordinary Design is a perfect match for Tim Burton’s eerily cookie cutter suburban neighborhood. \\\ Photo: Still from Edward Scissorhands. Directed by Tim Burton, 20th Century Studios, 1990.

Maybe it’s the range of soft color options or the organic topiary-like shape, but the Sculptural Candle Holder by Extra&Ordinary Design is a perfect match for Tim Burton’s eerily cookie cutter suburban neighborhood. Pair it with equally colorful tapered candles or style it as a standalone decor item, the Sculptural Candle Holder will bring a quirky and whimsical touch to your space.

Scream (1996)

Unlike the ghost-faced serial killer in this ‘90s slasher film, the Black Boo Mirror ($30) by cloudnola has an approachable, non-menacing aesthetic. \\\ Photo: Still from Scream. Directed by Wes Craven, Woods Entertainment, 1996.

Black Boo Mirror by cloudnola

Black Boo Mirror by cloudnola

Unlike the ghost-faced serial killer in this ‘90s slasher film, the Black Boo Mirror by cloudnola has an approachable, non-menacing aesthetic. More of a Casper the friendly ghost than a murderer in costume, if you will. The Boo Mirror’s rounded “ghostly” shape is modern and slim – perfect for storing on your dresser, bathroom counter or vanity – and compact enough to quell fears of someone appearing in it behind you. We’re big fans of the minimal black colorway all year round but there are other vibrant shades to choose from.

Midsommar (2019)

Don’t let Midsommar’s deceptively bright aesthetic fool you – this folk horror flick is undeniably scary and will leave you feeling icky for weeks. But don’t worry, the Peace & Sweetness Puzzle ($60) is the perfect follow up to help decompress. \\\ Photo: Still from Midsommar. Directed by Ari Aster, A24, 2019.

Peace and Sweetness Puzzle by Ordinary Habit

Peace and Sweetness Puzzle by Ordinary Habit

Admittedly not the first film to spring (no pun intended) to mind for the Halloween season, don’t let Midsommar’s deceptively bright aesthetic fool you – this folk horror flick is undeniably scary and will leave you feeling icky for weeks. The delicate floral motif in the Peace & Sweetness Puzzle by Ordinary Habitat is reminiscent of the folk art seen throughout the film, and the contrast of the stark black background recalls its sinister plot points.

$60

Beetlejuice (1988)

Much like the film’s namesake devious bio-exorcist, the Mixed-Up Stripes Throw ($165) by Happy Habitat shakes up your space with its eye-catching striped pattern. \\\ Photo: Still from Beetlejuice. Directed by Tim Burton, Warner Bros. Pictures, 1988.

Mixed Up Stripes Black Throw by Happy Habitat

Mixed Up Stripes Black Throw by Happy Habitat

Much like the film’s namesake devious bio-exorcist, the Mixed-Up Stripes Throw by Happy Habitat shakes up your space with its eye-catching striped pattern. Made with recycled cotton, this bold and graphic throw is as cozy as it is stylish. Perfect for draping over an accent chair, your bed or living room sofa. Though we are sad to say that you can’t make this ultra-soft throw appear by saying its name three times.
