5 Ways to De-Stress + Unwind at Home

Everyone’s idea of self-care and de-stressing looks different. For some, a face mask is all it takes, and for others a bottle (or two) of wine is required. We’re all different and so are our needs, but one thing is clear – we need to find ways to de-stress and relax, especially while home during this quarantine. To help you out, we’re taking you through five ways to relax, help you unwind, and take care of yourself.

>>> Add a scent >>> Mica Starter Kit by Kitchibe
Whether candles are your go-to or burning incense, either way, adding a scent can change the feel of your space and mind. Scents have long been considered beneficial to help relax you, evoke calmness, and improve sleep, and they definitely make your home feel welcoming and peaceful. To make that happen, try a set like this one from Kitchibe that includes six fragrances – Yuzu, Kitchibe, Yuki, Matcha, Washi, and Sakura – with refreshing scents that will mentally take you on spiritual retreats.

>>> Refresh your face >>> Clarifying Face Mask by Alder New York
When we’re stressed out, chances are our skin is too, especially our face. With just a few minutes of time once or twice a week, masks can do wonders for your face, like detoxing it from all the impurities in the air and in the makeup we use. This deep cleaning mud mask will exfoliate and refresh your skin leaving it clearer, softer, and much more smooth. Plus, you can feel good knowing this brand only makes vegan products with clean, dermatologist approved ingredients.

>>> Take a soak >>> Big Dipper Mineral Bath by Bathing Culture
Taking a bath is often considered the ultimate for relaxation, so if you’re lucky enough to have a tub, you should indulge!  You can turn off the harsh, unforgiving lights and light candles to change the space from being a boring bathroom into a cozy sanctuary. Add some salts, like these that feature a blend of Himalayan salts, Dead Sea salts, green sea clay, and jojoba oil, making you feel like you took the hot springs home right to your own bathroom.

>> Do not disturb >>> Pom Waterproof Vibrator by Dame
Your sexual wellness is just as important as other forms of self-care, although it’s not as readily discussed. Whether you choose to talk about it or not, do not ignore it – indulge instead! Today, there are many pleasure-inducing options out there, many of them from female-owned businesses who’ve taken the industry to a whole new and innovative level, like Dame. Their mission began with the idea of closing the pleasure gap and since then, they’ve been making magic with a growing collection of vibrators, most of which are waterproof which means they can join you in the tub.

>> Get Cozy >>> Maze Black + Pewter Throw by Happy Habitat
After the bath, when you’re in that dreamy relaxation mode, keep it going by curling up on the sofa with a cozy throw. Throws are great to keep around on the back of the couch or the foot of your bed – not only do they offer warmth when needed, they add a design element to any space they’re in. Pick one with your favorite colors or one that makes a bold statement, either way, you can’t go wrong when it’s time to curl up and get cozy.
