Jeremy Earhart’s artwork has won my heart. Having seen it in person during my trip to Austin, I am a new fan.
Combining traditional methods of craft with fun materials like Plexiglas, he makes all of his pieces by hand. Inspired by early childhood nostalgia, album cover art and the ambient music of Brian Eno, his works are like a new take on traditional ornamentation.
Like oversized puzzles, he builds with layers, composing collages of acrylic until they create complex compositions. I’d totally hang one of these on my wall.
I love that he also plays with lighting and blacklights to illuminate his work.
Originally from Missouri, Jeremy moved to Brooklyn where he lived for 12 years and is now working and living just outside of Austin, Texas.
