Errazuriz was commissioned by Collective Design Fair to create one of his signature sculptures for the entrance of the new fair. The interactive Blow-Me installation consists of nine industrial fans with a little bit of neon humor layered in with the hope that collectors will find something that “blows them away.” The piece entices viewers to turn the switch button on and stand in front of it.

The pink neon mocks the fact that neon art has become so abundant at art fairs. The phrase, well, that of course has sexual, and of course flippant, connotations and it’s a reminder that the always original Errazuriz will do exactly what he likes.

In his words:

I believe we should attempt to create works that can offer a strong exciting exterior capable of capturing the attention of the viewer and hopefully luring them to a re-enforced multi-layered work that can offer a multiplicity of readings and a stronger memorable experience.
