Xemei Stool by Mediodesign

Barcelona-based Mediodesign created the Xemei Stool, with its unique form, that falls somewhere between a functional object and art. Combining a seat and back full of curves with the straight lines and angles of the structure it sits on, the sculptural hybrid design is anything but ordinary.

The back and seat are made from Corian that is thermoformed to produce the ergonomic shape. The structure is built from Finnish plywood that’s coated in either black or white Formica.

The stool was originally designed for a twin-run Venetian restaurant in Barcelona called “Xemei”, which means “twins” in Venetian dialect.
