Designer Matthias Kirchner reworked bicycle parts to give a new perspective to an everyday object: a chair, which he created during a six week project at University of Applied Science Aachen.
Using two old bicycle forks, he created the framing of the seat and old bike tires braided together to create a seat. The tubes are hand sewn and the braided rubber creates a kind of buoyant surface that molds to the sitter’s body.
