A Flat-Packed Chair Made of a Seat and Six Sticks

Etc.etc. challenged themselves to design a chair that a 4 year old could draw. That idea led to Naïve, a simple construction, wooden chair for Lithuanian furniture brand Emko that’s made up of six, equally sized sticks and a seat. For added comfort, a soft “pullover” can be added to the back.

The biggest challenge they ran into was coming up with the best angles and lengths for the sticks in order to make sitting comfortable.

By using six of the same size parts, it allows for simplified production and shipping. The chair comes flat-packed in a small box and easily assembles by screwing in the six legs into the scooped seat.

Naïve is available in six colors or a natural oiled ash. If you obtain more than one, you can easily mix the colors up by swapping out the pieces.
