Simon Frambach’s Nod Light lets the user interact with it by lifting and lowering the shade, much like the head does when nodding, hence its name. When the shade is at its highest point, it’s the brightest and when you lower it, the lamp goes to sleep. That simple movement replaces the need for any buttons or sliders to do the job.
The lamp’s aluminum body has a thick silhouette that’s juxtaposed with a flat shade that appears much more delicate at just half a centimeter thick. Inside, an ultra thin strip of LEDs circle around an acrylic reflector to give off an even amount of light without multiple shadows.
