Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, in collaboration with Danish design group KiBiSi, designed the VIA57™ lounge chair for Fritz Hansen. Just like many other pieces of Fritz Hansen furniture, the new chair was designed for a specific location, Ingels’ brand-new VIA 57 WEST building in New York City.
The chair’s unusual tetrahedral shape, inspired by the pyramid-like stance of the VIA 57 WEST building, allows you to sit from either side. You can also position the chair individually or grouped together into mini sofas.
Angled wooden legs support the upholstered seat, which is available in a Hallingdal 65 and Steelcut Trio fabrics.
