A Shelving System That Goes Together Without Hardware

Ammar Kalo, of Kalo, designed the Multi-Tier Shelf that fits together without the need of any hardware connections. Made from maple wood, the shelves rest on slanted legs using gravity to keep them in place.

Simple, custom-made brass pins attach the legs to the top shelf, which allows the unit to come apart and be flat packed for shipping. When it’s time to put the shelving unit together, secure the legs to the top shelf and then slide the other shelves onto the legs. They stay in place with the help of camel leather collars that grip the legs and keep them from sliding down.

The coffee table from the same collection has a similar look as the shelving unit with how the legs connect with the tabletop.
