Minimalist Watches from Nomad and Samuel Wilkinson

Scottish watch brand Nomad partnered with industrial designer Samuel Wilkinson to design the Line Collection of watches that focus on a minimalist, yet unique aesthetic that’s been lacking in the market. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship led to two years refining the design and sourcing honest manufacturers that would be able to meet their quality and demand.

Each part that goes into every watch is custom designed and manufactured, down to the clasp, the beveled glass, the textured stainless steel case that references cast iron, and a custom engineered backplate. The backplate allows the case to sit above the wrist to help with breathability. The watches utilize a Swiss made movement with a 10-year battery life.

The collection includes two versions – Inline and Outline – which reference the design of the dial. Both feature the typical numerical hour and minute markings, but they’re arranged in a way to give the watch face a fresh new spin.

Inline’s (on the right) markings are towards the center of the dial leaving space around the outer perimeter. The minimalist face has numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9, along with minute and hour lines. Outline (on the left) has all 12 hourly numbers with elongated lines for the minute marks.

In order to bring the collection to fruition, they’re seeking funds on Kickstarter to meet the minimum ordering requirements needed.
